Summer Hand-tied Flower Workshop

Our Cutting Garden is in the private, walled kitchen garden of Renishaw Hall surrounded by fruit trees and farm buildings. It is incredibly beautiful all year round but in July and August it overflows with cottage garden flowers and it is a wonderful time of year to harvest buckets of flowers, foliage, and herbs to create wild and wonderful hand-ties.

The workshops are held in the historic vine-covered glasshouse, constructed in 1911 to grow peaches for the Sitwell family. We will share our love of growing and gathering flowers and foraging for foliage to create natural, seasonal, arrangements that look like they have just been picked from a meadow.

We believe in gardening as naturally as possible and using environmentally friendly products and packaging. We will teach you how to gift wrap your flowers beautifully using brown paper and raffia and give you some seeds to grow at home.

All equipment is usually provided, but we will follow government guidance and we may ask you to bring your own secateurs, apron, gardening gloves and flask to stay as safe as possible. We will follow social distancing advice and restrict the number of attendees accordingly. Please be reassured that if your booking needs to be cancelled due to the restrictions we will give you a gift voucher or transfer your booking to a different date. Thank you for your support and understanding at this uncertain time. We really appreciate your custom for our small business.
