Our Cutting Garden at Renishaw Hall is incredibly beautiful all year round but in June, July and August it is overflowing with cottage garden flowers, herbs, fruit trees, and vines and it is a wonderful time of year to harvest buckets of flowers to make wild and wonderful creations.
Our workshops are informal, friendly, and filled with helpful information on how to get the most out of a cutting garden, harvesting and conditioning flowers and combining colours and textures together to create natural, seasonal, arrangements which look like they have just been picked from a meadow. You will be able to select and cut your own flowers from the garden and you will learn how to spiral stems to create a hand-tied bouquet with your chosen flowers, herbs, and foliage.
We believe in gardening as naturally as possible and using environmentally friendly products and packaging so we will teach you how to gift wrap garden flowers beautifully using brown paper and raffia and share our tips for making your own flower food and our favourite herbal tea and cake recipes all set in the Victorian greenhouse in the private orchard at Renishaw Hall.
All equipment is usually provided, but we will follow government guidance and we may ask you to bring your own secateurs, apron and gardening gloves to stay as safe as possible. We will follow all social distancing advice and restrict the number of attendees accordingly. Please be reassured that if your booking needs to be cancelled due to the restrictions we will give you a gift voucher or transfer your booking to a different date. Thank you for your support and understanding at this uncertain time. We really appreciate your custom for our small business.
